Now, we’re looking for a Senior Spark Engineer to help us shape the product, define our roadmap, and drive adoption within the AI and MLOps ecosystem.

The Role

As a Senior Spark Engineer, you will own and shape the batch processing module of our framework. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Spark-based batch execution systems that power vector computations. You will work closely with engineering leadership to ensure our data infrastructure is performant, maintainable, and aligned with our technical vision.

What You’ll Do

• Own and drive batch processing deliveries as the Subject Matter Expert of Spark, PySpark, Dataproc, and EMR.

• Implement and drive software engineering best practices within the data engineering modules.

• Measure and improve performance and delivery of batch execution.

• Identify and resolve issues in Python, PySpark, and within cloud-hosted environments like Dataproc, EMR.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to define and improve computation abstractions.

• Provide technical leadership to engineers, offering guidance on Spark performance optimization and best practices.

• Develop tools and frameworks that improve Spark job monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning.

• Work closely with leadership to drive projects that align with Superlinked’s technical and business objectives.

Who You Are

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on data-intensive applications.

• Strong PySpark and Python expertise, with experience in production Spark deployments.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize Spark performance, including tuning Dataproc, EMR, or Databricks.

• Familiarity with big data architectures (Hadoop, YARN, Spark SQL, DAG execution, Lambda Architecture).

• A DevOps mindset, with experience in monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving production issues.

• Strong understanding of batch processing workflows, with the ability to plan and execute impactful projects.

• Pragmatic and hands-on approach to software development, balancing long-term scalability with short-term delivery.

• Strong technical communication skills and the ability to mentor.

Bonus Points

• Experience in compiler architectures, GPU acceleration, or LLM-based workflows.

• Deep knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, and information retrieval technologies.

• Experience configuring and tuning Spark for low-latency, high-throughput data processing.

• Background in data engineering, with experience in data pipeline orchestration.
